Creation and Management of a Facebook Business Page

A Facebook Business Page is a great and free opportunity for businesses to increase brand awareness and generate sales on Facebook. Almost 2.5 billion people use facebook every month, and more than 140 million other businesses use facebook to reach a massive audience.

How to create a Facebook page for your business ?

1. Set up and sign up 



  • Enter your business information, and a category which describes your business, then click Continue

2. Add content with pictures


  • Click Upload Profile picture and Upload a Cover photo


  • You can now see a preview of your Facebook page

3. Create your username


Your username on a Facebook Business page is the way you will  tell people where to find you on Facebook.


  • Click Create Page in the left menu to set up your username. (Also called Vanity URL)


  • Click Create Username when you’re all set. A little box will pop up showing you the different links people may use to connect with your business on Facebook but also Messenger.

4. Add your business details


To start filling out your business details, click Edit Page Info in the top menu, you have different elements to complete :

  • Description

  • Categories

  • Contact 

  • Location

  • Hours

  • Extra options


Then Click Save 💾 changes under each sections.

5. Your story to tell


  • On your Facebook business page, there is a section where you can add a longer description of your business if necessary. To access it, you can click See more in the left menu, after this click About, and then click Our Story on the top right side. 


  • In this location, you can add a detailed description of what your business offers and also why they should Like or Follow your Page. This is a great place to set expectations and put relevant information on your business which is essential to establish a clear relation with your customers.


  • You can now enter a headline/text for your story, then upload a relevant photo. When you’re finished, you can click Publish.

6. Create your first post


  • With your Facebook page all set up, you can post valuable content, create your own posts, or share relevant content from thought leaders in your industry.


  • You could also create a specific type of post like an event or product offer, to do that, just click one of the options in the Create box at the top of your page.

How to optimize your Facebook Business Page ?

1. Add a call to action

​Facebook has a CTA (Call to action) button included which makes it very easy to provide the consumer what they are looking for. This can include allowing them to engage with your business in real life.

  • The correct CTA button set up will encourage visitors to learn more about your business or your shop but also download your app, or even book an appointment.

  • To add your CTA, click the blue box with written on it + Add a Button, then choose the type of button you want.

  • For each kind of CTA, you will be given a few text options to choose from. Select the option you prefer, then click Next.


  • Depending on the button you chose, you may be asked to select some additional options. When you’re ready, click Finish and your call-to-action button will go live.

2. Add a pinned post

​A pinned post is located at the top of your Facebook business page, right under your cover image. It is a good place to put an attention-grabbing item which will draw your visitors attention  and make them want to stick around a bit.

  • Start by publishing a new post, or scrolling down your feed to find an existing post you want to pin to the top of your Page. 

  • Click the three dots on the top right of the post, then click Pin to Top of Page. 

  • When you will have pinned the post, you will be able to see a blue thumbtack icon on the top right corner.

3. Make the most of templates and tabs

​Tabs are the different sections you can see on your Facebook page, like the About section and Photos. You can customize which tabs you want to include and the order in which they appear in the left menu of your page.

  • To access templates/tabs, click Settings in the top menu, then Templates and Tabs in the menu on the left.

4. Review your settings

  • To access your settings it is simple, just click Settings at the top right of your Facebook page.

  • Check your settings regularly, as your preferences and requirements may change the same as your business grows.

5. Learn and adapt from Page Insight

Facebook Page Insights objective is to make it easier to gather data about the different ways your fans are interacting with your page and the content you share.

  • To access to your page insights, click Insights in the top menu of your Facebook business page

  • Insights gives you information about the overall performances of your page. It includes some data on audience demographics and engagement. You can access these metrics on your posts so you can understand how many people you’re reaching.

  • Another key feature of Insights is the ability to see how many people have clicked on your call-to-action button, website, phone number, and address. This data is divided by demographics such as age, gender, country, city, and device, making it easier for you to tailor your  future content to your target audience.

  • To access this type of information, you can click Actions on Page in the left menu.
