Sharing Facebook Business Manager Access

Provide to a partner the access to assets in Business Manager

Are you currently working with an agency or consultant? If the answer is yes, you can easily add them to your Business Manager and thanks to this share your different assets with them.


When you add a partner, you can grant different levels of permissions and assign specific assets. The partners involved will be able to see the assets you shared with them in their Business Managers.

Important information before starting: 

  • Only admins can add a partner.

  • Your partner must have a Business Manager. 

  • You need your partner's business ID.

If all those elements are respected, you will now have two major options:

Give a partner an access to assets in your Business Manager

To add partners/agencies to your business, you need to: 

  • Open Facebook Business Manager - link here,

  • Go to Business settings,

  • Below Users, click "Partners".

  • Click "+ Add".

  • Select "Give a partner access to your assets".

  • Enter the business ID of the partner you want to add and click "Next".

  • On this screen, you can add partners to multiple assets. You can at this point choose a type of asset Step 1. You can select all the assets where you want to add your partner Step 2. You can now assign a specific role to your partner Step 3. If needed, you can repeat these steps until you've chosen a specific role for the different assets that you want to assign.

  • Click "Save Changes" to finish the task.

Make a request to a partner to share assets with your Business

You can also request a partner to share assets with you. Indeed, when your access is granted, you can see them in the partners tab located in your settings.


Before asking you should check a few things:

  • That your partner is an admin and has a Business Manager

  • You need also your partner’s name, Business ID and email, 

  • That your partner complete your request after you ask,

  • To give you access to a line of credit, they need to be also a finance editor.


To ask a partner to share assets with your business in Business Manager:

  • Go to Business settings,

  • Below Users, click "Partners",

  • Click on the section "+ Add".

  • Click "Request Access to an Ad Account"

  • Enter the name of the contact, the email, and the Facebook Business ID of the person you want to add.

  • Choose your business role and The partner role. Then click "Request asset types".

  • Choose the different types of assets and the level of permissions that you want to ask for. Your partner will select specific assets and permissions to share when they respond.

  • If applicable, click "Next: Partner payment methods".

  • Review your request and click Send.

Your partner will be notified by your request and will have a few possibilities:

  • Approve request: Button to Provide access to the assets you asked for, at the permission levels you requested.

  • Modify request: Button to give access to the specific assets you requested.

  • Deny request: Button to deny the access to the assets you requested.

Final steps:

  • You'll receive a notification once your partner takes action. You can check the status of your request at any time. Go to Business settings and then select Partners. Select a partner and look for the status.

  • If you need to, you can cancel your request. Go to Business settings and then select Partners. Select the partner whose request you wish to cancel and you can now click Cancel request.
